Hey everyone, happy Halloween! We hope you have a fun, safe, and spooky one. Here’s what’s been keeping us busy this month!
A new website for Tahoe Prosperity Center
We launched a new Webflow website for Tahoe Prosperity Center. The goal was to make TPC’s mission, programs, and ways to get involved easier to navigate. I particularly like the large navigation menu and the way past events stay front and center, giving people a recap of the important conversations happening around Tahoe.
More from Truckee North Tahoe This Week
We’ve also been expanding Truckee/North Tahoe This Week with a new local events calendar. We’re already keeping tabs on so many local events, so we wanted to put them in one place to make it easier for locals to plan and enjoy everything the area has to offer.
We’ve also launched TNT Families, a guide to local kids’ programs and activities, with ages, schedules, costs, and registration details in one place. There’s more to come with TNT!
We have a few exciting launches coming up, so keep an eye out for those.
What to do after your website goes live
Our latest blog post, Website Launch Checklist: 10 Things to Do After You Go Live, is a practical guide to what comes next. The thing I’d focus on most is keeping your website current. A lot of people launch their site and ignore it for months, or even years. By the time they get back to it, the content has gone stale and it no longer reflects their organization. Regular updates help visitors find the latest information and feel confident you’re still on top of things.
Of course, if you work with us, we’re here to take care of those updates for you!
Local business notes
Two dates for local nonprofits: Give Back Tahoe registration closes November 3 for the December 1–31 giving campaign. Applications for the 2027 Truckee Core Values Event Fund close November 16. The fund supports marketing for eligible nonprofit or nonprofit-partnered events taking place within Truckee town limits.
Make some local connections: The North Tahoe Chamber and IVCBA mixer is November 12, 4–6 p.m., at Crystal Bay Club.
A new business on the way: Truckee Prime Steakhouse is planning to open in November in the former FiftyFifty space at The Rock.
Hiring for winter
If you’re hiring for the season, take a look at the Truckee North Tahoe Jobs Collective. It connects local employers with people looking for work in Truckee and North Tahoe, with options to post an opening or browse current roles.
Peak helps manage the platform, a collaboration between the Truckee Chamber, North Tahoe Chamber, and Tahoe Prosperity Center.
Need some desk space this winter
We have desks available at The Shack, our coworking space at the bottom of Olympic Valley Road. If you’re looking for a place to work near the mountain this winter, hit reply and we’ll show you around.
If there’s a website update or project you’ve been putting off, hit reply and tell us what you have in mind. We’d love to help.
Cheers,
Matt
